Happy New Year!

My apologies that posts have been so infrequent lately, things got a little crazy over the month of December so I had to put my head down and focus on the tasks at hand…and there were many.  We just got a new home, closing happened within 2 weeks and, in case you didn’t know, moving is one of the top three most stressful events in a person’s life.  Me + stress = incommunicado.  I find that I can’t multi-task, I’m quick to spazz out, and I usually get sick.  I’m now also a landlady (a title that makes me sound quite old) which requires extra space in my brain for advertising, showing, putting out fires, and acting stern.

We moved on the 16th and my husband and I both left for our own seperate holidays on the 17th; me to BC, him to Jamaica.  Many friends were shocked that we took seperate vacations but I wanted to see my family, he wanted to see his and neither wanted to see each other’s…just kidding…but, for us, independance and absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Here’s my family having our annual family portrait taken:

After my time at home in the north reading, sleeping, cooking, skiing, snowshoeing, visiting, and hanging out with the deer outside our front door

I have come home to unpack the new house and get my mind and body ready to get back to regular life.  So this post isn’t necessarily sharing any nutrition tips or recipe ideas, it’s just to say “hey, I’m back in action”

I hope you all had a fantastic holiday season and that you’re as inspired as me about what’s to come in 2010.
